![]() They can’t control the narrative on steam, its why nintendo would never do it. No storefront of their own, no cross play playsation features, no cross save, no real support hub for their games, etc. Its not worth diminishing the reputation of your biggest franchises and still split profits with steam. If Last of Us comes out next month and also does badly they need to just start from scratch with this whole pc port thing. Its like, why dilute the brand for such low sales of popular games? Like yeah, we don’t expect much from sackboy, but Miles and Uncharted did horribly. Shit, they barely marketed Returnal on PS5. I don’t see what the end goal for Sony is with these pc ports if they’re not even gonna really market them. I think im starting to agree with (oh dear) They have to match every feature offer on PC, on console, so that they retain people spending on PlayStation as much as possible. ![]() If they sell the game for $20 cheaper on PC, offer a coupon or discount or Reward Points (their pick) for people who bought the game on PS full-price, that they can use towards a future purchase. If they add mod support for games on PC, they should add it for the PlayStation version. Sony avoid a lot of problem Microsoft have with Day 1 on console & PC for all games, but they still have some unnecessary ones present IMO. However, some of those suggestions, I think they should at least bring them to the console-side for people who already purchased the game beforehand.īecause if PC is basically getting the PS5 version AND they're getting all those other features you mention like mod support, DLSS 3.0, being cheaper, not needing to pay for online, and performing as well or better than the console version? Why buy the game on console at that point? Especially if the time between console & PC version isn't very long. Sony seem to be doing a lot for PC feature support if not at launch then shortly after launch.
